Been a long time since we saw any information regarding Elder Scroll 6 – when we saw a trailer at E3 in 2018. So Bethesda has come out and gave a little more information about the game, but when? They are not really giving much information about the game itself. Given the fact that Bethesda was bought by Microsoft recently, we can only make guesses as to where it might be released. As Microsoft owns the Xbox platform, it is safe to say it will be going there, but will it be going on the newest Xbox consoles as well as the old? That is something we don’t know. PC, on the other hand, is most likely a given platform to be released on. Executive vice-president Phil Spencer is suggesting it could be a Microsoft exclusive. It might be bad luck for PlayStation owners. I guess we will have to wait and see on that information.
Bethesda’s Director Todd Howard made a comment about new engine changes. He talks about a big overhaul to the engine itself. They have put a lot of money and effort into the new changes and hire a lot more people for the project. Some of the changes he talks about are about procedural generation, which could be a game-changer for the Elder Scrolls name. Just depends on how it is implemented in the game. Microsoft has come out and said that all Bethesda catalogued will be on their Xbox Game Pass, so you don’t even need to buy the game to play it.
As of right now, no more information is known about the release date, just a waiting game right now (lol). Could be years out, so I would not expect to have any more news anytime soon.
